The Order of the Gods shall you keep, and within Their Circles shall you walk. You should not say "I believe" when you doubt, nor claim to obey the Lord and Lady’s word when you never enter into the Temple. You must not profess with your lips that which is not in your heart.
I wonder this so often, how many people ‘fake it’ when it comes to faith. All faiths, do some just claim to believe so they fit in? So they aren’t the odd ball in their family or group? I can’t understand the emotion or reasoning behind it as I was never one of those people, I can only go by what they have told me.
I’m very familiar with people who go along with the crowd to keep the peace but they are very open about their disbelief so no harm really. To them it’s not important enough to cause a fuss, they participate and otherwise ignore all codes of conduct, belief, etc. What harm could you bring about by claiming to obey the Gods when you don’t? Psychic harm, spending your time so focused on not slipping up you aren’t going to find a spiritual home, something that feels right.
